Lindsey Vonn Workout for Lower Body

1. Planks – for abs

– Kneel on the ground with your toes tucked under and elbows on the center of a Swiss ball.

– Lift your knees off ground and straighten your legs to form a straight line with your body.

– Try to hold for 45 to 60 seconds or as long as possible.


2. Twist Tuck – 1 set of 6 to 12 reps

Push up position on ground with shins resting on a Swiss ball

Keep upper body still and bend knees to the chest and toward the left.

Return to start position and repeat, alternating knee tucks left then right.

3. Hamstring Curl – 3 sets of 12 to 15 reps

Face up with arms at your sides, bend your knees with your calves resting on Swiss ball.  Flex your feet backward.

Lift your hips off the ground and simultaneously bend your knees and bring the Swiss ball toward you.

Make sure you keep your hips up throughout the exercise then extend your legs to roll the Swill ball back to starting position to repeat.
4. Quadruped Pulse – 3 sets of 15 to 20 pulses

Lie facedown with your stomach on the Swiss ball, keep your toes on the ground and place your hands on the ball.

Stretch your right arm forward and lift your left leg behind you, making sure they are both parallel to the ground.

Next slightly lift and lower your arm and leg 15 to 20 times or pulses.  Then switch arm and leg and repeat.  Alternate sides for each set and complete 3 total.

5. Single-Leg Ball Squat – 3 sets per leg, 15 reps per set

Stand with right knee bent and shin resting on Swiss ball about 2 feet behind you.  Overlap hands and extend your arms parallel to the ground.  Now bend bend your let knee in front of you 90 degrees to squat with knees behind your toes.  Return to start position.

It has given me real results, immediate results, from information and techniques that I have never seen in 25 years of bodybuilding and strength training.

Tim accepts that each person responds differently to stimuli. Even with that, his workout and diet “test subjects” have included thousands of people, rather than just himself and a handful of others.

And with over 5 years of testing, there’s proof to back up his results.

My fitness needs as a 50 year old have changed over the years. Also, the stuff that worked for me in the past, just doesn’t have the same effect on me now – diet, exercise, and supplements.


So when I tried some of Ferriss’s techniques and tips, I was surprised by what I saw . . . results and obvious changes!

Along those lines, Ferris says don’t use physical recreation to achieve fitness goals. It doesn’t work.  Sports are for enjoyment.  Full potential fitness comes from a completely different, controlled effort.

This book is over 400 pages not including appendices. But in my opinion, the book offers more than all other diet, exercise, and healthy lifestyle programs on the market.  No matter what your goals, you’ll get SOMETHING out of this book, even if you’re already in great shape and accustomed to doing your own research.  If you’re not in good shape, hold onto your hat, because chances are you’ll see huge results.  With the least effort you’ve ever had to put in.

Here’s what the Sylvester Stallone workout looks like:

For working out his shoulders, back, and arms. Notice how high the reps are – the lowest he uses is 6 reps per set.  Furthermore, others are over 12.

  • Weighted Pull-Ups at an angle – 3 to 4 sets, 6 to 12 reps – Stallone does one warm up set with just his body weight, then wears a weighted vest for resistance.  His variation is that he pulls his chin towards one hand then alternates pulling towards the other.
  • Unilateral Low-Cable Row (3 to 4 sets, 14 to 16 reps) You may not find this configuration at your club, but you can improvise. His machine has two stacks of weights, side-by-side.  With a D-handle in each hand, he does 10 pulls with both arms at the same time, then he alternates arms and performs another 4 to 6 reps with each arm.
  • T-Bar Row – (3 sets, 10 to 12 reps) Performed with one end of a barbell in a corner while lifting with a cross bar near the load end. Sly does one arm at a time.
  • Squat-Jump Pull-Up – (3 sets of 8 reps). Interesting variation.  Stallone performs body weight jumping squats, grabbing an 8 foot high bar on each jump and performs a pullup, before coming back down.  Then he repeats the move for an entire set.
  • Machine Shrugs, Free Weight Loaded – (3 sets, 6 to 12 reps) Stallone increases the weights on each set up to nearly 400-plus pounds.
  • Shrugs on the Standing Calf-Machine – (3 sets, 6 to 12 reps) Shrugs done by raising the pads by shrugging the shoulders.
  • Uneven Standing Barbell Curl – (3 sets, 8 to 12 reps) Standing barbell curl with the variation of having one hand closer to the center than the other, putting more stress on one arm.  Also, alternate which hand is closer to the center mid way through the set.
  • Strive Curl Machine – (3 sets, 12 to 18 reps) Stallone adjusts the cam on the “Strive” 3 times per set to place different stress on his biceps.   He performs 4 to 6 reps at each setting.
  • Dumbbell Hammer Curl – (3 sets, 18 to 30 reps) Sly lifts both dumbbells together for 8 to 10 reps, then ends with fast, alternating reps for another 10 to 20 reps.
